We have been in Australia for one week now.  It has definitely surpassed all expectations!!  When we began dreaming about this trip many many months ago it seemed impossible…it was a time thing and definitely a money thing…we had so many things in the ‘to pay next’ docket that it was overwhelming and discouraging.  However God continued to bring this trip to mind and we continued to pray about it.  We were listening to a podcast one day and the speaker was talking about seed money, there is some money that you spend that is seed…an investment into what God wants to for the future, and He always honours the seed.  Adam and I paused the podcast and both turned and said ‘Australia.’  It was a moment that we felt was from God and He nudged both of us…so much better than just one of us!  It still felt so impossible.  Then God began to provide for each expense, one at a time, the little and the big.  We were so encouraged that we began to look for flights, we began to do research and I began to check out housing options for the various places on our list.  We are in Australia primarily for a gathering with our organization.  It is going to be big and we felt it was very important for us to attend and network with what God is doing in the South Pacific particularly, and then it began to expand…friends leaving Fiji unexpectedly that we get to visit in Sydney, housing begin free or very cheap (what???  In Australia???), Bill Johnson (a particular teacher

The boys had their own kids program!! So exciting and they were so nervous! It was awesome and the same speakers that spoke to the adults also spoke to the kids! Fantastic!

who happened to be in Australia during this time), even meeting someone Fiji from the church hosting a conference we wanted to attend in Melbourne.  For me the hardest thing about a trip is that first big reservation (usually without cancellation possibilities involving lots of moolah….)…those plane tickets, the first housing reserved etc.  I mention this because Adam was able to find and book some airplane tickets, but then got very busy and was not able to plan anything else for this trip…argh…I am so not good at making decisions but if I didn’t get online and book housing we were sleeping in our rental car and so I took the plunge and booked it all…by myself…yup…proud moment!!  So far so good!!

We were able to visit the Melbourne Sea LIfe Aquarium! God's creation is so amazing!!

When God says something He is so faithful and when things came up that made this trip seem impossible I could always go back to what He said.  When we got to the airport that last day in Fiji, Adam’s ticket had somehow been cancelled (only his….so the rest of us could check in fine….).  This would normally be very stressful for me, but I was so sure at this point that God has this….it all worked out…they let him on the plane!  As we headed into immigration they couldn’t find one of our sons in their system and his passport would not scan…awesomeness….again…peace in the long wait and it all worked out.  Even as I add all our costs into our budget spreadsheet and take a big gulp…wishing it was in Fijian dollars and not Aussie dollars…God knows, He spoke, He has provided (Heart…please tell Head…)!

As we sit here in our beautiful house, just home from combing the beach my

heart is full of gratitude of what has been and what is to come.  There is a tiredness I didn’t even know was there that is being quenched by this rest and don’t even get me started about the conference and the time we just had with YWAM Melbourne…that’s another whole post and we are enjoying every treat God has lined up for this time!

p.s. I am trying to post a picture a day on instagram in case you wanted to follow our journey…it’s mostly pictures of my kids and us being touristy so don’t expect too much 🙂  You can follow me by clicking on the link on the sidebar.
